Phillip Yarbrough is the President of Nations Financial Mortgage Corporation, a company he started in 1997. Phil has been active in the mortgage industry since 1984.
Phil is a former loan underwriter and has in-depth knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA mortgage regulation. He formerly held the position of Compliance Officer where was responsible for regulatory conformity and personnel issues for a large mortgage company.
As an Economics Professor, Phil taught college level classes in economic theory in both Macro Economics and Micro Economics.
He earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics, with a specialty in Macro Economic theory and governmental budgets. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Finance, with concentrated studies in Real Estate Finance.
Phil currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees at Rancho Santiago Community College District where he was first publicly elected in 1996. Rancho Santiago Community College is the fifth largest Community College in California and manages the Sheriffs, Fire and Nurses Academies among five other major colleges and learning institutions. Phil previously served as an Executive Board member with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and on the board of the American Lung Association. He also served as Coordinator for The Concord Coalition, a non-profit federal budget policy citizens organization.
He has also been a Lay Minister at his church where he ministered to the elderly and the homeless.
